2024 Albuquerque Journal Reader’s Choice Award Winner

RV Sales - 2024 Best RV Dealership

Moriarty, NM: RV Sales announced that they have been named as the 2024 Albuquerque Journal Readers’ Choice Award winner in the Best RV Dealership category. This is the first year that the RV Dealership category was included in the newspaper’s annual contest that has been in place for more than 20 years.

Readers of the Albuquerque Journal had the opportunity to vote for their favorite businesses in various categories. “We’re absolutely thrilled, honored, and humbled to receive this recognition from the readers of the Albuquerque Journal,” said Valerie Chowning, president and owner. “It’s especially meaningful because our dealership is a small, multi-generational and locally owned business located in little ol’ Moriarty. It demonstrates that consumers are appreciative of the personal service that many larger dealerships don’t provide.”

Ms. Chowning’s grandfather and grandmother, Tony and Mildred Nanneman, opened their RV dealership, Cavalier Campers, in 1967 in Albuquerque. In reflecting on her family’s business philosophy, Ms. Chowning [...]

If you do any kind of traveling in your RV, you’ve seen that National campgrounds can be pretty restrictive when it comes to the length of your rig. Over the years we’ve heard from many of our customers who have brought back a new length restriction from their favorite spot, sometimes cutting them just barely out of the limits.

You’ll notice on some of these lengths it says, “combined length”. That means if your truck and trailer reach a combined length longer than your spot, you cannot park inside the park. There are usually other options that will fit your rig but the frustration of finding out too late that you’re too long, can be overwhelming. Outdoors RV shared this awesome list of National campground length requirements to help us plan ahead and we wanted to share this pearl of wisdom with you.

We always say there is a list of necessities you must [...]

We want to be able to offer great new trailers at a price reasonable for a family budget, and we think we found something that will meet your needs and make your family excited to hit the road.

Do you have stinky water lines? Here is how to clean them: Mix 1 cup vinegar with 1/2 cup bleach. Pour the mixture into your fresh water tank and fill the tank with water. Open your sink faucet, including the hot water, and run it until you smell bleach. Close your faucets and let it sit for one hour, then drain, refill with clean water, and run faucets again until the water system is rinsed out. If necessary, you can repeat the procedure with other faucets, including your shower and bathroom sink. Just make sure to flush your plumbing system after running bleach through it!

Hello Excel Club of New Mexico Members!

The 2016 Spring Rally is coming up! It will be April 22-24, 2016 at the Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort. Call 575-744-5996 to make your reservations. The resort address is 402 Highway 195, Elephant Butte, NM 87935. The resort has a new policy regarding reservations: When you call to reserve your space, they are charging the entire length of your stay instead of just the first night.

Tommy Cabe, your club president, will send out the schedule for the rally in early March–so keep your eyes on your email and the RV Sales website for updates! We will definitely be playing Pickleball, and the meal on Saturday night will be in small self-organized groups rather than a catered meal or a large group. More details will be forthcoming in the schedule!

We will see you all there!

Check it out! RV Business named the EverGreen IGo one of its Top RV Debuts for 2016! We think it’s a fantastic travel trailer, and we are glad others in the industry think so too! (“RV Business” magazine, vol. 67 no. 1, January/February 2016: pg. 55)

We replaced more holding tanks last year than we would have liked to.  It’s a costly and messy repair. We want to help you learn more about your RV so that you can try to avoid it: Excel uses 2 piece holding tanks that are parallel to the RV under the basement. Excel made a frame from 2X2s, angle iron, and a cross member for the wider lip of the holding tank to rest upon. Most of your tanks are hanging down suspended from the frame.  When the weight of the waste accumulates in the body of the tank, it applies an extraordinary amount of pressure to the seam where the tank and the lip meet.   A majority of the tanks that fail will have stress cracks along the weakest point in the seam along that lip. To avoid splitting your tank, haul with a minimal amount of fluid/ weight whenever possible. If your tank [...]
