Sad news from Excel
Friends,
We usually look forward to writing you Christmas letters with news from Excel, RV Sales, and our families. Unfortunately, today we are writing you with far sadder news. Bryan Tillet informed us yesterday afternoon that Peterson Industries is closing immediately. We were heartbroken and surprised to learn of this news because we have had a strong partnership with the Excel family since 1993. We all knew that the recession in 2008-09 was hard on RV Manufacturers, and we were thrilled when Peterson Industries was able to streamline expenses and weather the storm. Unfortunately, they got so far behind that it became impossible to dig back out. We hope that you will share a few positive thoughts or prayers for the employees who have kept Excel at the top of the charts since 1966.
We realize that you will have many questions and concerns regarding how this will affect you and your RV and we encourage you to contact us so that we can help you through this transition as smoothly as possible. We just ask that you be patient with us in the near term. We’ve never gone through this before and we are sure that there will be a bit of a learning curve.
We believed that Excel’s were the best full-timing trailer on the market, and still do. We will always be proud to have been one of Excel’s top dealers for nearly a quarter of a century. We have made many life-long friendships because of Excel and are very grateful for all of our loyal customers and friends.
Change is difficult and frightening, but we will carry on. As you could imagine, this news was such a shock to all of us. We are still available to service your Excel’s and we will be searching for a new product line. If you know of any RV’s that compare to the quality of the Excel’s we would love to hear your feedback.
Thank you again for your continued support during this difficult time.
Best Wishes,
From Ralph, Kathy, Clayton, Valerie Chowing, Kevin Ridenour and Melody C’DeBaca.

We are very sorry to hear that the Excel factory has closed. We had set a service appointment with Ralph Barnett for the 1st week of May at Smith Center, KA. I had not been able to contact him via e-mail or phone and just received the news of the closing. We had been in Mexico this winter. Please call us at 317-447-3171 to set up a service appointment, Thank you, Charlie Schaffer

Hello Patricia,
I’m sorry for the delayed response, we must have missed this when it came in. We probably have some old brochures we could scan and email. Please send me an email to val@rvsalesnm.com. Excel probably wouldn’t have had a specific manual, we typically can download appliance manuals online. Please let me know if we can still be of assistance.
