We usually look forward to writing you Christmas letters with news from Excel, RV Sales, and our families. Unfortunately, today we are writing you with far sadder news. Bryan Tillet informed us yesterday afternoon that Peterson Industries is closing immediately. We were heartbroken and surprised to learn of this news because we have had a strong partnership with the Excel family since 1993. We all knew that the recession in 2008-09 was hard on RV Manufacturers, and we were thrilled when Peterson Industries was able to streamline expenses and weather the storm. Unfortunately, they got so far behind that it became impossible to dig back out. We hope that you will share a few positive thoughts or prayers for the employees who have kept Excel at the top of the charts since 1966.

EXCEL CLUB OF NEW MEXICO SPRING 2015 CAMPOUT AT ELEPHANT BUTE RV RESORT
The dates for the Spring campout are April 25 – 27. Elephant Bute RV Resort has set aside 40 places for us in both the upper and lower levels of the park. The Rates are $38.00 per night for a regular site with ( 30 or 50 amp) and $50.09 for a premium site(longer, wider, and on concrete) All rates are will also be good for day(s) prior and after the rally.
We will have FREE use of the new rec. room, which can hold up to 200people. We will also have free use of the hot tub, pool, pickle court and other activities.
The rig cleaning crew is already scheduled to be there this weekend so you will be able to have your rig and/or pickup washed, waxed and anything else that they do. Notify the campground at the time [...]
Peterson Industries, manufacturer of Excel 5th wheels, recently announced that they are partnering with RV Armor, Inc. to be the exclusive manufacturer to offer the RV Armor® “Lifetime” roof on new RVs.
Excel’s President, Bryan Tillett, first met RV Armor President, Lee Thaxton at the PRVCA show in Hershey, PA. in September. “At first we were reluctant to offer a new roof that promised to be the next “miracle roof” explained Tillett. “But after meeting Lee and seeing the product being applied first hand, I was convinced RV consumers need a maintenance free roof like this.”
The optional RV Armor® “Lifetime” roof will come with a lifetime warranty, provided by RV Armor, Inc. If the roof should fail, or a water leak occur, RV Armor will not only warranty it, including material and labor, they will come to the customer’s location to do the work. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We all need some time with our families during the holidays. We will be Closed Saturday December 20- Monday January 5. Normal business hours will return on Tuesday January 6. Sorry for any inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you in 2015.

Jack Yenne, Customer Service Manager at Peterson Industries, encourages everyone to check your cooling/heating, refrigeration and LP systems before heading out for summer camping trips.
Obstructions around the cooling fan on the roof can bring your fun to a halt, so be sure a neighborhood bird family hasn’t nested in the wrong place. Also, check to be sure the cooling fins are not dented or plugged with foreign material. Dents can be combed out if they aren’t severe, and fins can be blown or washed out.
The same principle applies to your refrigerator and furnace. Bird and spider nests in and around the burner tubes keep the system from igniting or burning properly. And don’t forget the water system. Pump filters and faucet strainer screens need to be cleaned regularly.
